This was an absolute adventure. I loved every moment of this book. Namely because I felt like I was there - Switzerland. Not so much as it was a travel guide with a novel; it was more like following along a trail...of a mystery. The story line was layered. The bits and pieces along the way way smart - not too hard and not so simple as to make you loose interest. Its a story about a woman DI (Detective Inspector). A mother, returning to work after a terrible tragedy into what is still a man's world - especially at the higher level for men (perhaps for many of us) - as I too have challenge with female detective (just doing the job). By that I mean without the distraction of romance and all that damsel in distress stuff. No damsel in distress in this magnificent snow storm mystery. Also, it is a kind of epic story; without the many, many, many pages to explain what /who/why something that happened in the past might be relevant to the current (case). Its a smart, well-paced, layered mystery story with a smart, well educate, multi-layered woman detective lead in a Swiss town. You'll enjoy it! peace
