Michael Keaton plays a husband and father who loses his job as an engineer at the auto manufacturing plant. After struggling to find another job, his wife lands a high paying position at an advertising agency. While she goes to the office each day, he stays home to take care of the house and the children. Mr. Mom is one of my favorite movies, even though it's a bit dated now. That's what makes it such a classic! Hilarity ensues when the wife, formerly a housewife gets a job after the husband loses his, leaving him as a house husband. The joys of parenthood are evident here as well as the pressures of work and marriage. Very funny movie with a great cast! Highly recommended!

This is one of my all-time favorite movies. If you need a laugh, you will find many here. It was written by John Hughes (National Lampoon's Vacation, Home Alone, Planes, Trains & Automobiles, all of those beloved '80s teen movies and more), and I think it is one of his best. The cast is perfect, too. It's a good family movie, with an explanation that a dad parenting full-time was more of a rarity in 1983; I've liked it since I was a kid. Mr. Mom is rated PG.
