Okay, so a thing about this movie. As a young teenage girl - I absolutely loved this movie, I liked the joining of the two different worlds (ballet with hip-hop; which would explain my later love of "Step Up"). But my father always hated it - and I asked him why. He said it was because she had to give up who she was to fit in with everyone and that wasn't a message he wanted me to catch. As an adult now watching the movie - I agree that there was a little bit of aggressive conformation going on - but the final dance number is still great and it can be viewed as a movie of embracing diverse cultures.

Save the Last Dance is worth seeing at least once if you like teen movies. It could have been better with some additional editing and/or faster pacing; I think teen movies should typically be less than 100 minutes in length. It's fun to see Kerry Washington in this early role. Save the Last Dance is rated PG-13 for violence, sexual content, language and brief drug references.

I loved this movie from start to fiish. It is a bit sad, but I loved all the dancing scenes and watching her learn to dance. I hope to own this movie soon!

Save the Last Dance is my go to movie when I am feeling down and need a feel good movie pick me up. I have seen this movie at least a dozen times since I was a teenager and I would reccomend it to anyone who needs to be reminded of the inherent strength and goodness in us all.

Cute and interesting interplay with the intercouple relationship. I do not think this movie brought anything forward, but for its time and place in history it did well.
