Very strange movie, not too much of a plot. A great waste of talent, but a fair amount of action near the end. Wish I had not bothered to watch.

I checked out Hotel Artemis with an understanding it would be somewhat like the concept of the hotels in the world of John Wick and on that point I was not disappointed. The plot and the story could have been fleshed out so much more in order to give you a better understanding of the way things worked. Instead, I believed it relied on people's interest in Chevron and of course Winston, but it only took moments to show us how that work with John. This world is not as polished and sophisticated as John's world, it is gritty, grimy and downright ugly. We know Nurse is an alcoholic with a dark past, tied to a little boy, her companion Everest is caring and thoughtful, not just muscle. We learn how she ended up there but not him. So much subplot that was left out which would have made for a more interesting story of the Artemis and it's guests. Instead we get to spend time with arms dealer who is only mildly interesting. The Wolfking barely makes an appearance, as important to the entire story as he his, but Nurse's response to his son's calls are entertaining. There was so much more to this world that could have been shown.

Just a money-making vehicle for Jodie Foster. Really not much point to this film. But maybe I shouldn't have been expecting Grand Hotel!

Checked out because of Jodie Foster and Jeff Goldblum - Couldn't understand Foster. Plot? What plot. Stupid movie.

Hotel Artemis is very interesting plot, very good actors, but very poor editing. I found it difficult to understand the story or sequence of actions because they left out connecting scenes.

Pretty entertaining gritty movie.

A well acted film that does combine the elements of John Wick and Television show the Blacklist. I enjoyed the concepts of the rules of the hotel and the consequences when they were broken.

Foster played Jean as an aging nurse who runs a secret hospital for criminals in futuristic Los Angeles. Jean was fashioned after Mr. "Kate" Kaplan in the TV series "The Blacklist" and borrowed the Continental Hotel concept from "John Wick." Without the stellar cast and performance, a forgettable film about rules, rules that were broken one after another soon after Jean told Everest: We got a Code Red and a possible Code Gray.

IMDb has some good ones already. Here are those on the rules of the Hotel, most not in IMDb:

Ah, that's against the rules. Yeah, I gotta run checks. You could be a serial, you could be a ped, you could be a terrorist.
That is also against the rules. Right there in the membership pack under "do not kill the other patients."
But rules are rules. If someone else gets here first, I can't hold the last room for him.
This hotel was built on two things, man's fundamental avarice and trust. Now, I break the rules in here, and nasty people got carte blanche to do the same.
You're lucky this place has rules.

I broke the rules once before. It worked out pretty good if you remember.
-It was different. I was just a kid.
I told you there are rules. I talked about this with...
-Rules, rules, rules. You say rules? Jeanie, without the rule-breakers, honey, where would you be?
We've got rules here, lady.
-How I got here, how you got here. The Nurse, too.
The rules keep the outside world fxcking outside, where they belong.
You know the rules. You take something from me, I gotta... give you back to the ocean.
Of course. She only kills important people.
Wait. You can't. That's against the rules!
Hey, no killing the other patients! My rule number one! How many times I gotta say it?
Apparently, you guys don't know the rules. Visiting hours are never.
Oh, what the fxck happened tonight?
-Well, people broke the rules. No guns, no guests, no bombs. No insulting staff, no killing the other patients. And no cops?
