I agree with the other comments. There was a murder in this book but only about 6 pages were devoted to it. The whole book was about the end of Kelly's pregnancy. If "How is baby Jack doing?" or "He's playing soccer" were written once they were written at least 50 times. I have read several of the books in this series but this was my least favourite. I might not read any others.

I agree with the person who wrote that the plot was watered down. I thought it was repetitive with food and asking about the baby, which is nice, but this happened too often. Not much suspense or storytelling. My least favorite of her books. Wouldn't recommend it highly to anyone. Doesn't even compare with several other mystery writers.

This novel was more about having a baby and talking about food than any sort of serious mystery or theme on fiber arts, both of which are advertised on the cover. Everything was so watered down and second hand. Even the recipe and yarn pattern don't really connect. I will not be reading the others.

This is not one of her better books. There is way too much repetition, hardly any action and the mystery is a non event. I was getting very tired of everyone asking Kelly how she was doing and getting the same answer. I have enjoyed this series from the beginning, so this was a little disappointing.

Like the other books in this series, this one continues with over use of cliches and visiting the same themes over and over again, (Kelly loves coffee, plays softball, Marty eats too much, etc...)

But I didn't read it for invigorating intellectual stimulation. The characters are sweet, and with the cliffhanger from the last book, I wanted to see how it resolved.

I was rather annoyed at the end of the prior book that they had Kelly and Steve as parents to be without being married first. Yes, I know they have been living together without being married, but to actually have them conceive outside of marriage was a disappointment for this reader.

Happily, they DO marry in this current book. The hasty wedding planning though is comical. Kelly just sits back and lets her "friends" do everything. She doesn't really even offer an opinion about what she would like in a wedding and that doesn't seem realistic to me.

But then... it is just a story, right? I always appreciate the pretty descriptions of the the yarn shop and the free patterns and recipes in this book.

One thing that really bugged me though....the cover suggests a baby shower happening, and no where in the book is a shower thrown for Kelly's baby. You'd think that with all the yarny friends that Kelly is likely to have through Lambspun, that the ladies would have been organizing something and I was looking forward to descriptions of lovely hand-crafted baby items given to Kelly. There were several points in the book that it seemed like the author was setting up for a "surprise" shower for Kelly, and it didn't happen.

Oh the murder mystery???? kind of a non-issue very background theme. That's okay with me. I get a little tired of the violence all the time. And does anyone else think it odd that it is always Kelly who somehow seems to know the murdered person, at least peripherally? You'd think that after over a dozen homicides in a small town, and that one person is always connected that that Burt and Dan would finally figure out that Kelly must be the mastermind behind them all!
