Great book. 3 different cultures

Such a wonderfully written book, very emotive and the description of the discord between the Pakistani and Bangladesh people is well informed. The story line was an amusing one of the adventures of Pival, a recently widowed mother on a journey to learn more about her son and his life in America. She is guided through America by a rather hapless Bengal guide, and her American companion and their adventures make for good reading. I had a little cry at the end but it was a very heartwarming story!

I enjoyed this book the most of any that I can remember.

A beautiful debut novel by Franqui. The characters who are all charming and believable will take you on a journey not just through America, but also cultural differences and beliefs. In the end you will be left with a sense of hope, but you'll also keep thinking about these characters long after you put the book down.

From the first chapter, I cared about these characters and wanted to know how things would turn out for each of them. I went along on their journey and stayed up all night to finish the book. I enjoyed the emotional ride, start to finish.

This is a fun novel for everyone who enjoys a narrated story of travels with diverse and likable, flawed & quirky characters. This is Leah Franqui's debut novel. I'm currently reading an advance copy from the publisher.
