Some interesting history as Romania passed from Communism back into a democracy and EU membership, but the story of these neighbors is slow-paced. They do find an unexpected treasure and there's a sweet wrap-up from dad to son.

We do not get many opportunities to watch a Romanian-made movie!

It starts well, an interesting story, good acting! We are given a glimpse into the Romanian culture and a family life! It was enjoyable for the first half, as it was building up to the topic! The scene with the boss was priceless and quite humorous!
Then, it started to lag!
I suppose looking for a treasure can get very tedious and frustrating! Realistic enough! It briefly soared after this lag, only to suddenly end! I kept replaying the last quarter, thinking that I somehow missed an important part! No such luck!
The ending was blah, a disappointing let down! With a fictional story, a script writer and a director have many creative, exciting options! Perhaps, they ran out of money, or lost interest, or fell asleep! However, one does not need much money to have a meaningful or a decent ending! The quality, so promising and evident during the first half, took a rapid descent into a puff of nothing by the end! It was as if someone cut the necessary scenes out by mistake! And this is where this DVD, sadly, last the stars!

There is no moral to this movie's story! It just is!
I am perplexed how this movie won Awards!
It is a watchable movie, enjoyable at times, just do not come with the high expectations! And be prepared to do something fun afterward! You will need it to make up for the disappointing ending!
