Actor Bill Murray met cellist Jan Vogler on a trans-Atlantic flight. The two struck up a friendship and soon had the idea to work together on a project, a program of classical music, singing and literature that would reflect on the great values of American culture.

The first piece, a poem by Lucille Clifton, is absolutely beautiful.

Bill Murray can't sing but that doesn't stop him from making a thoughtful album of poetry and show tunes and more. My favorite is his selections of "West Side Story".

Eccentric, but you'd expect that of Bill Murray! Interesting and sometimes very moving mix of music and spoken word (Murray reading from Huck Finn
made me tear up) with a definite Americana feel. The musicians are top-notch --- check this one out (literally!).
