This was a great psychological suspense. It reminded me of Gone Girl. It also would make a great movie.

Paul and Mia have been married about 10 years and Paul has decided to take Mia out to their cottage for "their best day ever". Told from Paul's voice, Paul is an egotistical narcissistic psychopath who believes he is God's gift to women. He is a person that most will hate because of his comments. The story is told as events happen in a day and the twists and turn of events will have you continually turning pages until you are done. Whew! What an awesome read!

It was an interesting read. By the end the narrator's egotism was really grating, but that's a psychopath for you. Or is it? Clearly the writer didn't do a lot of research into the psychological condition of their character, because he has many reoccurring traits and feelings that a true psychopath or sociopath would NOT have. Source: I studied behavioral psychology for years at the collegiate level. The author clearly wanted a really edgy, psychologically insane character a la Patrick Bates in American Psycho, but they didn't quite know how to pull it off. And the wife was a bit pathetic at the end, marrying pretty much the next man who looked at her funny. Completed 2/23/18.

Worst book ever . No suspense , ten pages in you know what's going on , twenty pages in you figure out the twist . I hate when someone says they figured out the plot half way thru , here the author hands it to you . The book ends with a whimper , then there is a ' One year later'
section at the end which tells you what happened one year before !!!

For those that read the whole book to see how it ends , don't waste your time , read the "One year later " section , then look for a better book to read .

Cliched characters. Stilted writing. No surprises.

I found this book very predictable. While it was'nt a bad read, it was'nt great either.

I hated the narrator of this book. I mean: really, REALLY hated him. But that said, I loved the book. I couldn't wait to see how things would end (yet I was afraid to get to the end in case I didn't like the ending). A disturbing, creepy, and twisty page-turner that was so, so good.
