Such and enchanting little story with beautiful language and delicate illustrations that work perfectly with the text! I'd love to see how my daughter reacts to it in a couple of years. As an adult who hasn't stopped reading children's books, I enjoyed it a lot!

This picture book tells the sweet story of a man who uncorks bottled messages set adrift in the ocean and delivers them to their destination, all while secretly hoping to one day find a message that’s meant for him. When he comes across an invitation to a party happening the next day with no name attached to it, he sets out to find the recipient – and finds friendship of his own in the process. It’s a sweet book with beautiful artwork, and although it’s definitely one of those picture books that was probably written with the intention to appeal foremost to adults, little ones will nonetheless enjoy this comforting, whimsical book and its gorgeous illustrations.

I recommend this beautifully illustrated and written picture book just as much for adults (and possibly even more so) as for children.

What a little gem this was! I'm pretty sure it's going to go over younger readers' heads, but there are some wonderful messages and gorgeously written phrases in it. Plus, watercolor drawings are a favorite of mine.

A lovely book that is best explored up close, to see the expression and tiny details of Stead's illustrations. If you enjoyed Bear Has a Story to Tell or A Sick Day for Amos McGee by Philip Stead, you will appreciate Michelle Cuevas's gentle tale.
