I give it 4 stars for an interesting plotline. I liked this movie. A woman stays 29 for 60 yrs and has to constantly move on from life after making friends before her secret is discovered. An interesting story of whom she meets and falls in love with. Filmed in SF Bay area.

The plot seemed interesting to me and I was curious to see what would happen. The story is a bit slow because it's mostly focused on Adaline's relationships (or lack thereof) and her past, so not a lot of action happens. Despite that I enjoyed it, I thought there were some beautifully shot scenes and I especially enjoyed the wardrobe. All around, it was a sweet story, if a little cheesy and fantastical, but I was satisfied.

Got my interest initially, but began to get so implausible, we didn’t watch it.

I’m on a Blake Lively tour de movies and tried this one. I thought it was horrible and couldn’t finish it. To syrupy sweet.

Strange but somewhat plausible in the category of if this were possible type of story. Beautifully filmed in San Francisco, Marin, and Sonoma. Blake Lively and Harrison Ford, with a fine supporting cast featuring Ellen Burstyn and Kathy Baker, make this story come alive.

In this year of reflecting on male female relationships this movie to me highlighted how we get conditioned in the wrong way. Guy relentlessly pursuing a woman after she said NO how many times? Even showing up at her home uninvited. This behaviour gets sold as romantic but now just comes off as annoying and creepy. And then surprisingly she is apologizing to him for saying NO!
This movie was obviously made to be romantic but in this day and age it comes off as being a creep fest. Stop making these movies people and passing off this behaviours as romantic. No wonder men are getting so confused out there!!

Directed by Lee Toland Krieger in 2015, this American romantic fantasy depicts the unbelievable love story of Adaline Bowman.
Of course, everybody dies soon or later, but this story makes you believe that somebody cannot age at all.
With a well-crafted script, this romantic fantasy appears quite real.
Dazzling and unforgettable!

What would it be like, feel like to be 29 forever? This movie does a beautiful job exploring this very question. Highly recommend.

The plot was okay and voice from the future references was too technobabbly ,but Blake Lively & Harrison Ford performances were its saving grace.

Opening narrative:
Narrator: On December 31, 2014, a taxicab traveled through San Francisco, from Chinatown to Marin. The car carried a single passenger: a woman, her birth name Adaline Bowman, current alias Jennifer Larson. ...
===
Narrator on magical moment:
... something highly unusual occurred, something almost magical...snow fell in Sonoma County, California. The immersion in the frigid water caused Adaline's body to go into an anoxic reflex, instantly stopping her breathing and slowing her heartbeat. Within 2 minutes, Adaline Bowman's core temperature had dropped to 87 degrees...
===
Adaline: Tell me something I can hold on to forever and never let go.
Ellis: Let go.
===
Ellis: You know they have a saying in Italy. "Anni, amori, e bicchieri di vino, no che contato mai."
Adaline: Years, lovers... wine cups?
Ellis: Years, lovers, and glasses of wine. These are things that should never be counted.
Adaline: You have no idea.

Thought this quote was long lost but found it in Boston Library's archive (others remain lost):

SPOILER ALERTS (Joke with punchline:)

One day at Fenway Park, Ted Williams... he's hangin' around Fenway and this horse walks up and says, "I want to play for the Sox." ...
Ted's like, "Okay, what can you do?"
And the horse says, "I can hit just like you, only a whole lot better ".
So, he picks up the bat with his teeth and Ted's like, "Okay",
and he throws him a few, and sure enough... goong, goong, goong! into the bleachers.
So, Ted's like, "Whoa! What else can you do?"
And the horse says, "Well, I can play shortstop."
So, Ted hits him a few ground balls and sure enough He's a "vacuum cleaner"?
Yeah, so Ted's like, "Whoa! Can you pitch?"
And the horse just looks at him and says,
"Pitch? Who ever heard of a horse pitching?"

Food for thought: Plato believed that every soul has a companion star it returns to after death. If you lived a moral life.

Sexual Content: Although no sex is shown on screen, it's heavily implied. When Adaline visits Ellis's house, they share a room and bed. It is implied that she is naked in bed, and the two kiss passionately. Adaline wears a revealing dress.
