*sigh* Another fantastic book by Tamera Alexander. I am so in love with this series! The descriptions are vivid, the characters realistic, and the descriptions of the horses… perfect. In the second book of the series, Alexander focuses on Maggie Linden, a friend of Olivia's, and Cullen McGrath. Linden is a fiery and driven young woman with a knack for riding, while Cullen is a fierce Irishman with a secret past who abruptly crosses paths with the Lindens. Soon, the two are dependent on one another… and a horse race that could cause them to lose everything. Maggie will have to discover how much she is willing to sacrifice to win - and if maybe God has a very different plan for her than she has always thought. A novel filled with as much joy as heartache, To Win Her Favor has a fantastic ending and an entrancing love story. I would certainly recommend this title for fans of meaningful Christian historical romance!

This is the second book in this series from this author. There is a lot of emotion in this story. The characters are very rich, and the descriptions are wonderfully vivid. This book made me tear up more than once, and it taught me a few things I didn't know about the American civil war. It is definitely a page-turner, and I would recommend it for those who enjoy a subtle romance and a strong female protagonist.
