I have to disagree with the comment before mine, I have read or listened to almost all of the books in this series and the character development is incredible as the series progresses. Eve works through incredible demons, yes she is hard core but that is what draws you to her, you know under the tough exterior is a huge heart. A heart she is learning to use, and there are moments in these books where you are brought to tears by the tragedy she faces. If you are looking for action packed, creative futuristic developments, total girl but kicking, and a love that is unimaginable, then this series is for you. In some of the books it is obvious who the killer is, but the point isn't to always be guessing, the point is the journey it takes to get there. Nora Roberts is a brilliant creative mind. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

I had decided to read this series in order and the last 2 books have been a disappointment. I am disgruntled with Eve Dallas who seems to yell a lot (that maybe the narrator) and hasn't learned much personally from the beginning of the series. Pretty much the same ole same ole. When I figure out the criminal and she hasn't a clue, I think Eve needs another training course.

Lieutenant, with respect, I think it would be best if you and Roarke went home and cleaned up, you're a little too in tune with the season, so to speak.
