"It's November in Stoneham, New Hampshire, and time for the Chamber of Commerce elections. The race is already heated, as the long-standing Chamber president is being challenged by a former lover—bookstore owner Tricia Miles' sister, Angelica. Then local small business owner Stan Berry throws his hat in the ring. Unfortunately, it's not there for long when he's found murdered in the Brookview Inn. The weapon is a brass letter opener belonging to the inn's receptionist, but Tricia knows there's no way the receptionist is a killer."--Back cover.

This is the seventh book in the Booktown series and I found it to be a quick read. The plot moved along at a steady pace. I love the variety of characters in this series and was completely unaware of who the murderer was until it was revealed, which is certainly a point in the book's favor. However, I did not like this book as well as others in the series.

Such a fun series... nice to see some romance thrown Tricia's way. Also refreshing to read about cold and winter holidays while sweltering in the mid summer heat!

Cool continuation of the series... and I can't wait to try the creme brulee recipe!
