Opinion

From Library Staff

Mandy is an orphan with a big imagination, just like Anne. She finds an abandoned cottage in the woods and fixes it up, an act that, I'm sure, would make Anne Shirley proud.

My very favourite book as a kid. I've read it several times and have to say it is for all ages and is timeless.

I adored this book as a child. Who hasn't wondered what it would be like to be an orphan? And Mandy, the heroine, instead of pining helplessly away, makes a little world for herself, putting her heart and her sweat into it, and in doing so, wins the heart of a mysterious admirer.
