I love Garrison Keillor’s storytelling voice on the CDs from his radio program (a great companion on road trips) and I could hear his voice in my head throughout this book. The story itself is lightweight and entertaining, including a nod to metafiction by inserting himself as a character, and I was charmed throughout. I particularly admire how Keillor, in the middle of a humorous situation, deftly switches to a profound observation of human idiosyncrasies. A pleasure to read.
