This is a good novel - set in the world of English horse racing as are most Dick Francis novels.
Good plot with some interesting twists
This is a really good story, my second or third time reading it. Loved it every time. The attention to the photography detail [science & lifestyle] as well as the horse track/jockey lifestyle thourally enjoyed.
This particular copy, the book's jacket plastic cover [protecting the actual book jacket] needs to be replaced. The combined cover was too loose & crinkly for me to enjoy reading the book. So I took it off for the duration of reading the book & put it back on as soon as I was done.
Philip Nore is a jockey who helps the widow and son of George Millace, a photographer killed in an auto accident. His widow is attacked, and her house is burned down by people who want some incriminating evidence. Philip is also a photographer, and he has the difficult task of finding some evidence in the negatives that Millace had stored in a safe place. The photos lead to a whole web of cheating among powerful men. It's an intriguing mystery.
