Description

Join MrFancyMan to learn the basics of sourdough and leave with your own starter!

---

Sourdough Baker Neal Crosson-Hill of MrFancyMan will facilitate a beginner's course where attendees will learn to create and maintain a sourdough starter. We will begin with flour selection and learn to promote a healthy environment for the culture. You'll experience feeding and maintenance hands-on while discussing common mistakes and necessary corrections to promote the long-term health of the starter. Discussion will also include proper terms and definitions, finding the best method for your baking schedule, creating a backup starter, and how to prepare for the next bake day.

Attendees can expect to receive a small amount of starter, feed it during class, and take home their freshly fed starter. You will also receive two recipes that use the starter for flavor in conventional recipes.
