A Wander in the Wetlands

9:30 AM – 11:30 AM
Siebenthaler Fen

Description

Come walk through Siebenthaler Fen with Brittany and our Wetland's guide.

---

Join the Beaver Creek Wetlands Association for a tour of Siebenthaler Fen, the crown jewel of the Beaver Creek Wetland corridor. Learn about the importance and rarity of this fen and why wetlands are so important. Plant diversity is high along the boardwalk during this peak flowering season of queen of the prairie, asters, bottle gentians and more. Wet woods line the boardwalk leading to the fen-sedge meadows that dominate the loop section. Butterflies are abundant and bird sightings may include yellow warbler, sora rail, red-bellied woodpecker, and many more. We recommend you bring binoculars. You never know what you will see! Learn why and how BCWA has helped to preserve and protect more than 2,400 acres of land along the Beaver Creek Wetland corridor.

In the event of light rain, the tour will continue. This tour of Siebenthaler Fen is approximately 1 mile along a boardwalk. Some sections of the boardwalk have slight gradient changes and may be wet depending on previous days' weather. Sturdy shoes are recommended.
